Description

This is a dangerous trail crossing that is unmarked. Friends of East Rock Park is working with the City of New Haven to get crosswalk striping and unobtrusive signs for vehicle traffic in place to increase safety. These improvements should be in place later this summer.

My wife was nearly struck here as well while riding her bike. Its too bad that cyclists and pedestrians are not favored on this park road.

FERP: what other plans does the city have for English Drive? Bike Lanes maybe?

I believe the crosswalk has been striped, as FERP envisaged when this clicket was opened. (Yay!)

Thanks to lobbying by the Friends of East Rock Park and work by the Transportation, Traffic and Parking Dept, new crosswalks have been installed! Signs will be installed shortly at these locations as well to ensure vehicles are aware there are pedestrians crossing.
