Description

This repair started with a blown PECO transformer Jan. 31, 2013. In order to fix that, they (PECO?) had to dig underground at this location. (In the process they hit a water line and took out one of the street lamps.) The attached image is of the larger hole with its metal plate (they dug another hole opposite to fix the plumbing issue that they created). On 4-9-2013, the PHL Streets Dept. sent trucks out to re-dig after the initial "repair." They left a metal plate on one side of the street, but did refill and "resurface" (?) the section opposite. The problem is cones/warning barriers that warned of the metal plate before are now gone and the remaining plate gets driven over by cars making a loud CLUNK noise that keeps nearby residents up all night. The one barrier/sign that had been left behind has now completely disappeared and no word from the Streets Dept about when the road repair will be complete.
