I have to agree with the above. I am relatively new to new york and appalled at the way the streets look down were we live. I live by mid city bowling and I do my very best to recycle card board but I too have no bin. I would like to recycle but feel like we are not good enough on this side of town. My mother has a bin and she resides off of Delaware ave. It is just a shame to see so much potential here and know that Kingston could be such a pretty and more beautiful place to live in. I only wish enough people cared to make the changes and stand behind them.

I believe that the recycling containers were initially provided to the landlords, which where then supposed to pass down to the tenants. So is this a renter issue?

as for the great mayor, I had a chance run in with him trying to get a sound bite for YNN a while back, and he said he we would never have a dog park here in Kingston, but they are planning on doing over the tennis courts , lost my vote

@wetpaint: that's just not true: there is a group working on a dog park and they are very very very slow... they've been "working" on it for a couple of years... they are not public about it, they do not appear to be an inclusive group, but if you want a dog park,you can certainly find the group and help make it happen. And the tennis courts at Forsythe are part of a fine tradition of really good tennis in Kingston, really good public courts and there used to be some outstanding players there... lots of fun to watch. Are you with YNN? That woud be good to know. And again, it is a Ward 4 problem. And this won't do much good if you're here to write and don't read.

I live in a 2-family home in mid-town and needed a separate recycling container from my upstairs neighbor. All I had to do was call 845-331-5213 for DPW and ask for an additional bin. They were super friendly and delivered a new container the same day. There was no cost to me or the landlord.
