Please don't close this issue. The same location is never shoveled in the winter, probably because the hedges get in the way.

Try calling public space inspector if it is impeding sidewalk access- or contact your local LCI Inspector

What's a public space inspector? Is this a city position? If so, what department?

The sidewalk almost not useable under the best conditions because of the overgrown hedge, and not useable after it snows. It is very aggravating.

This is also a problem during the winter as the same sidewalk is never shoveled.

I might put a nice note on the homeowners door asking them to trim the hedge. It's gotten more hazardous navigating around it as the days have gotten shorter. Again, when there is snow on the ground (they don't typically shovel the sliver of exposed sidewalk), it is particularly dangerous.

What about LCI? Usually they can handle issues of vegetation overgrowth.

It's been over a year and there has been no improvement in access to the sidewalk because of the overgrown hedge. There has also been minimal improvement in snow removal. During a 1-2 week stretch in August there was a full wheelbarrow blocking the sidewalk until I finally pushed into the homeowners driveway. It's on a busy and dangerous corner. Would LCI, or whoever, deal with please deal with this.

I agree. This location has been mentioned for both the overgrown hedge and the absence of snow shoveling for many years and there has never been a response from the city government.
