The stretch of Mountain Blvd. from Kuhnle to Calvaeras has a new illegal dumping event almost every day. If surveillance cameras were set up along this route, with posted notices of the cameras, the camera equipment would probably pay for itself
pretty quickly...if license plate numbers could be captured and the violators fined. Otherwise, the Dept. of Public Works should count on a doing a continual reconnaissance of this area to pick up illegally dumped stuff every couple of days.
The entire 580/13 maze needs sufficient lighting and cameras. Our Davenport Neighborhood Watch (Carson-Calaveras & Fair-Reinhardt) is working on surveillance cameras for our neighborhood. We'd be interested in working with other neighborhoods that are highly impacted (crime, vandalism, traffic, etc) in developing a proposal and putting pressure on both the City and State to abate the attractive/public nuisance for crime, vandalism, stopsign-running, and dumping that the maze has become.
