They probably can, but then they would be out with school buses, delivery trucks, and other drivers. Have you tried ear plugs for one night a week? There are roughly 30,000 people in Branford who need their trash picked up. Due to the rotation/schedule some of have earlier pick up times. It would be a monumental task to schedule trash pick up for an entire town on a home-to-home basis, which would result in higher taxes. I'm glad our town includes trash pick-up unlike many neighboring towns. Losing 5 minutes of sleep on Sunday night/Monday morning is a small price to pay for this service. It drives me crazy every time, but I move on, because I've a got a life to live.
I'm talking about health here, not convenience. Have you not heard that study after study finds lack of sleep, interrupted sleep and sleep deprivation are really bad for your health? Don't we want our kids who are getting on those school busses to be healthy and ready to learn? Don't we want their parents to be healthy to care for them? Don't we want everybody to just be healthy?!
You really sound just a bit rude (ear plugs?). So one day a week per neighborhood is too much for all the other drivers on the road to deal with a truck or two? Oh no! Two more trucks on the road! Quick, run for the hills!!! School buses have to deal with other trucks, even larger trucks. And no one is asking for "a home-to-home basis". What an idiotic statement!
All surrounding towns have pick up after 6:00 a.m. Why can they do it and Branford can't? You assume it's just five minutes lost. You assume it's a small price to pay but is it small?
haha, just as I imagined. Thank you for proving my point, crazy! By the way, I've taught Psychology for years and am quite aware of sleep patterns (and behavioral disorders). Don't be so eager to take the bait and act so silly and petulent. Good luck with life and sleep! LOL =)
PS Feel free to respond as angrily as you wish, you're probably cranky from missing sleep...but I am moving on. Good luck!
