This is a state road and even after 10 years there are still no sidewalks on the West Haven side of the road.

The city engineer's explanation is incorrect. There was never anyone at the meeting who spoke out against the sidewalks. We went to the meeting an it was a done deal!

It has been over two years since I posted about the missing sidewalks and the city has done nothing. Milford has sidewalks right up to the town line! West Haven clearly expects the citizens to walk in the middle of a busy road.

The City of West Haven will probably continue to do nothing, as its officials don't seem to want residents walking at all. This is unfortunate, as WH is a lovely city with a lot of potential. When friends come to visit me and want to take a walk, they are appalled that there are so many places without sidewalks and where cars don't even slow down for pedestrians. But hey, Eleanore Turkington thinks this is a "great question"! I have to agree with her there ...

Milford has a lot of things that West Haven doesn't, and that's why Milford is so prosperous and we are still called "Waste Haven". People have been moving to West Haven from other states, and they are appalled at how little the City seems to care about its appearance. What are our taxes paying for?
