PennDOT / West Bradford Twp was caught napping on this one. How could they NOT realize this would soon become an ad hoc detour, due to the traffic tie-ups on 322 because of the still-uncorrected traffic signal timing? They could have widened certain areas by a few feet by shaving back the embankments like they did about 10 years ago on Marshallton-Thorndale Road in several places.
We should all probably just shut up about Lucky Hill Rd though, lest the NIMBYs residing there will start whining about increased traffic, resulting in "No Thru Traffic" signs being posted. Why fix a problem, when you can just post restrictions and blame it on the neighborhood? ;)
Nothing to fix here
No one to blame
Just an inconvenience
Quit whining
Deal with it

I take this road to work everyday and yes it is narrow, but it's an old country back road. It's plenty wide enough if you don't cut the corners at 40mph like I see people do every day. The bridge on Strasburg will be finished in 4 months so why spend money and effort to widen a road that soon won't get 1/5 the traffic? Why not complain about the one lane bridges too?
And no one was caught napping. An official detour was set up as that is the extent of their job. I understand your frustrations about 322, I won't take it during rush hour either, but the detour sign in front of 4 Dogs had read reads "Local Traffic Only" since January. Just slow down on Lucky Hill and you'll have no problem.
