Description

Eastbound Fletcher, immediately east of 50th Street, sand, grit, and overgrowing vegetation block the bike shoulder. The problem exists off and on all the way to Interstate 75, with the shoulder completely clear in places but partly overgrown in many. Sand is loose and hazardous to bikes, who have to veer into the traffic lane to avoid it. Sweeping probably won't help much, the material is so thick it probably needs to be scraped off with a grader. Similar problems on same stretch westbound, but no blockage there is as bad (yet) as eastbound.
