It should be mark as a right turning lane. like it was designed for, it was added so people could turn into the businesses there. the people in the left lane always get cut off and have to wait longer because of this. they should have never added that lane a few years ago. I t only made hoosick street worse.

The traffic problem in this area on Hoosick Street is as bad as ever. Traffic is backed up in two lanes for blocks as drivers maneuver to merge into one lane at the last minute right past the traffic light. Ideally, this should have stayed two lanes. Since it was redesigned to merge to one lane at this very busy intersection, a VERY CLEAR indication that the lane ends (sign and pavement markings) should be given to allow time for drivers to move to the correct lane. I have had countless instances of drivers on the right rushing to get ahead as their lane ends, forcing the drivers in the left/main lane to a complete stop in order to let them through without causing an accident.

Millions of dollars were spent redesigning Hoosick Street, which was supposed to alleviate the traffic problems there. There has been no improvement to traffic flow - if anything, it's worse than ever. There are two eastbound lanes which abruptly reduce to one lane just past the South Lake Avenue intersection. Traffic is backed up for blocks on Hoosick Street as drivers suddenly realize the right lane is ending and try to cut ahead/merge into the correct lane. Drivers in the correct lane are usually forced to come to a complete stop in order to let the other drivers in. I have seen many close calls/near accidents in this area, lots of road rage. Need to rethink the design of this street. Should either be two lanes or a very clear notification that the right lane is a turn-only lane.

totally agree with you.. They should have thought of this when they did all the research. this should have been 2 lanes to walmart. but even up there they race up the right lane and cut over to the left. Im sure that wasn't done because of the business would have lost to much space or even those few houses would be front door on road. So now all they can do is clearly state that it is for turning starting on hoosick st. State police like to rest there maybe a few tickets wouldn't hurt

I agree with this, that right lane ends and people continue in that lane, forcing those in the left lane to stop and let them move over. I am sick of it.....traffic is bad enough on Hoosick Road/Street. I am sure, most people, if not all the people, know the lane ends, but they do not care. They just want to move ahead and could care less if they have to nose their way into the left lane. I am surprised there have not been accidents from those moves.
