With each downfall, Williams Lake Road, just west of Dixie Hwy. floods. There must be more that the county can do besides leaving a 'water over road' sign at the site year round....Thank you,

Carrie:
The Road Commission is working with the Water Resources Commission on this long-standing problem.
The problem lies with the WRC's drain under the road. The Road Commission's drainage structures that go to the WRC's drain are working as intended. However, the WRC's drain is not draining -- there is nowhere for the water to go once it gets through the Road Commission's drainage structures.
The WRC reports that part of its drain is collapsed. They are putting together a plan to address this, though it's not completely clear that this is the entire solution. It may also be that there simply is a high water table in the area, and there is nowhwere for the water to drain (as the area became developed, many of the natural low areas that traditionally received water were filled in, leaving fewer and fewer places for the water to drain).

Sunday morning was the worst I've seen it, and would say that the water had reached a depth of it being a real danger.

I have lived in that area for 20 years and this problem has been going on for AT LEAST that long. Are you, RCOC, telling me that nobody has been able to figure out a solution in all that time?? When I went through there the other night there were, at miniumum, 7 cars pulled over to the side of the road because of the depth of this small lake.

I've lived in the area for 32 years and it's always been an inconvenience but now it's reaching a danger level. This strip of Williams Lake is a HIGHLY travelled road and OCRC needs to finally correct this situation after all these years.

Williams Lake Road has been like this since I was a little kid, at least 55 years!!! RCOC points the finger and says "The WRC reports that part of its drain is collapsed. They are putting together a plan to address this, though it's not completely clear that this is the entire solution." What have they been smoking? In a contest to rename Waterford, the top two suggested names were "Wateroverroad" and "Arvee." Both fit pretty well.

OMG - - this is so dangerous! It's like driving thru a lake. What is it going to take to get this fixed once & for all? A tragic car accident? NO!!!! Get it fixed NOW!

In the Oakland press and Spinal Column last month it was reported that the County is going to permantely repair this in the spring.
