Description
The extension of each corner at these intersections has done nothing other than bring traffic the a hault, two lanes each way bottle neck into one lane each way North, South, East and West. This spans over five blocks. Removal of the right turn lanes does not make sense. I have to drive around the opposite side of my neiborhood to get home. This really needs to be change

Agree that narrowing the roadways with corner extensions along super busy 14th Street does not make sense. North-south and east-west traffic was already a nightmare, especially at intersections around DC USA. Bottlenecks extend across 16th Street into Mt. Pleasant due to backups at 14th and Irving, illegal stops/standing and only 2 traffic lanes out of 4 to allow for parking on both sides of Irving street (why?), plus drivers on 16th Street block the box during rush hour in frustration. We understand the need to accommodate large volumes of cars, buses, delivery trucks, pedestrians and bicycles, but purposely creating bottlenecks on busy thoroughfares doesn't do that--it only encourages road rage.
DC DDOT's policy on traffic handling needs a serious tuneup.
