Now they are parking in the circle in front of the Harbor patrol headquarters as well. Last night parking enforcement officers came and told them they could not park there and they moved. As soon as the officers left, the buses returned and parked again. The parking enforcement officers, to their credit also returned and ticketed all 5 buses. I'mm afraid this is going to be a daily battle

the signs have been posted but now they need to be enforced. The buses are becoming more numerous again due to fall leaf cruises. They idle more than 3 minutes, in some cases for the entire time the cruise is gone and are still parking illegally. Now they park in the circle in front of the Harbor Police and the other side of the street.

How about enforcement of no-idling laws as well?

enforcing the no idling laws goes with out saying. We just have to educate the police and parking enforcement officers that any bus parked for over 3 minutes for any reason with the motor running is breaking the law and subject to a $500 fine.

Here we are and it is March of 2013. 2013!!!!!!! and I am still living with the idling buses and motor coaches in the colonial parking lot at the corner of 6th and Water St. The lot has started charging even less to park so even more buses are parking here. An average of 12-16 buses park here and even more stack up on the street in front of the Spirit Boats and Odyssey. The average idle time on drop of is 10 minutes and pickup and leaving is never under 20 minutes. The signs have disappeared. the fines have risen to $1000. No one in this city Cares. Where is DCRA? Where is DDOT? Where is DDOE? Where are the POLICE? Where are the Councilmembers?

It is June of 2013 and the buses in the lot are now parking with the front toward the buildings. Less fumes are coming up but that also means more buses are idling on the streets because fewer buses can fit in the lot. More compliance needs to be enforced!
