Description

A speed limit sign with wheels and flashing display was placed on the street Monday, 5/17. Whoever is responsible, thanks, but it hasn't done anything to alleviate the problem. The real problem are SPECIFIC PEOPLE that not only speed but do burnouts whenever possible and generally drive wrecklessly. I believe the police terminology would be "wreckless driving", "unsafe start" and "display of speed". I have written a letter to Lt. Casanova, manager of the Fair Haven substation, suggesting unmarked police vehicle patrol, to no avail. Perhaps no action is taken because NHPD does not want to become entwined in alien status issues which undoubtedly would surface as a result of traffic enforcement. I don't know. My only intention is to make my street safe, period. Unless that flashing sign is placed in the middle of the street (unlikely) or STOP SIGNS at e/b and w/b on Dover @ Rowe Sts (probably the best solution) nothing will change.
