Description
The left turn signal from Hermitage Rd as you come into the city from Henrico Co. ( where road is known as Lakeside Ave) only functions about 1 of every 3 times at the Westbrook Ave. intersection. This left turn light is independent of the 2 other through lanes continuing into the city.
This is a well known problem for area residents.
For example, today, I was awaiting the left turn signal to change from red to green. I sat through 2 complete cycles while I was on Hermitage waiting to turn left onto Westbrook. The light cycled permitting the traffic from Westbrook to continue, but no turn signal from Hermitage to Westbrook. I then continued through the light and made a U-turn to come back so I could make a right onto Westbrook. Westbrook Ave is the only route to the large Westminster Canterbury complex and dead ends at Hermitage.
As I say this is well known to locals, as a matter of fact the black SUV behind me waiting for the turn signal just made the left turn on the non-functioning red light.
Please have the traffic signals at Hermitage and Westbrook checked.
Respectfully,
J Harlow

Why won't they tell us what was done to close?
I expect nothing.
I'll follow up and report to the local city councilperson.

2/19/2013 - Service Review: Thanks so much with your communication with Richmond City government. Technically this signal is functioning and the bulbs work (although slow moving to green signal). A formal request has been submitted to Traffic Engineering to ask them to please look into programming changes for timing/cycle/sensors on the controller(s) here. Please refer to SeeClickFix #415864 for continued updates about this location allowing additional time for Traffic Engineering to look into this matter fully
