This property is vacant, uninhabitable and an eyesore to residences that live by it.
The taxes are $7681 for 2009-2010 & were paid 7-1-09 & 1-1-10 on time. As were the 2008 & 2007 taxes were.
I have a video playing May called "Rockville Ruins" on Rockville Ruins; May 20th: 3:00pm & again May 31st: 12:30pm on Comcast Channel 5 in Vernon.
This property sits idle and in Ruins for years & years with no movement forward but yet the Parent Company, MacDermid Inc of Waterbury, CT, a multi-bilion dollar viable business is allowed to maintain a Blighted property. See www.MacDermid.com. Their company slogan is "Yes We Can." Well maybe someone can ask them to rebuild a put some of their thousands of employees to work on East Main St again.

Roosevelt Mills is moving along with initial construction but the MacDermid Property still remains neglected.
WHY we dont know.

210 East Main Street remains blighted (see picture) even as Loom City Lofts are under construction just across the street. One of the main factors necessary to enforce Vernon's blight ordinance is "[the property] is vacant and attracting illegal activity as documented in police department records."
I do not know if the Town is enforcing the blight ordinance against 210 but I suggest neighbors report any new illegal activity (including graffiti and major trash dumping) directly to the Vernon Police Department since police records appear to have a heavy weight in the enforcement of the blight ordinance.
