Description

There should be a left-turn signal to turn onto Henning from Union when traveling east. More often than not, I'll sit through a few cycles of light changes because oncoming traffic doesn't allow for left turns and the person next in line to turn has to wait for the light to turn red before they can turn safely.

I agree! That whole stretch from Henning all the way past Meadow Brook Road needs to be addressed. It may not seem bad during certain parts of the day... but it is. Speeding is a huge issue in both directions. Making turns from any point on that stretch of road can be a fear factor. More and more motorist are using Exit 14, Henning Road, Gilbert Road and Union/9P than before. Whether its a turning signal, roundabout, or another traffic light something has to be addressed. Who out there favors getting something done? Lets see a show of hands!

Make your left turn from Union Ave at East Ave, then east on Fifth Ave to Henning Rd. Saves the left at Union Ave and Henning Rd . Also eliminates the Union Ave horse and race track crossings.

You are so right and the people come charging up from Northway heading into Saratoga and not caring about anyone but getting through the light before it changes - driving like they are still on the Northway. Crazy!

Perhaps you need to review how to make a left turn. If you are in the intersection waiting to turn left, and the light turns red, you have the right of way to turn! The rules are that way so that this situation does not happen.

Even if you know how to make a left turn, when there are 4-5 cars waiting to turn left here, you still wait through numerous cycles before you're the one in the middle of the intersection making the left as the light turns red. Think. It is only logical for there to be a turn signal here to assist the vehicles trying to turn left with heavy westbound traffic.

Doesn't matter... If there are a bunch of people waiting to turn left and there are a bunch of people coming from the east, you still sit through many cycles of lights before you are the one in the middle of the intersection turning as the light turns red.
