Description

There is a section of Summer Street between 25 and 27 that continuously floods after moderate to heavy rains. During the winter this section is constantly ice packed and requires many additional visits from the DPW to sand and salt. Also during the winter, cars splash slush onto the sidewalks and it refreezes covering the sidewalk with ice. This is a main pedestrian route to the South School, and each year is a treacherous walk for parents and children.

There is a storm drain a short distance away at 29 Summer Street, but the roadway does not slope enough for this area to drain. Summer Street is pretty well dug up now from all the utility work. Before it gets repaired and repaved, is there a chance an extra storm drain could be added at this location?
Thanks for your attention.
