I can see the challenge of timing lights on Seminole Blvd. in such a congested area. Since this intersection reported above has been a topic for a long time now, may I suggest a blinking yellow arrow? This would not require re-timing the signal, but would at least give some driver discretion to be able to make the turn when there is no oncoming traffic.

I agree that the timing at this light makes no sense. I have sat there on 70th waiting for long periods of time with no traffic at all on Seminole. It doesn't make sense

Melissa I agree that the Green arrow to turn onto 70th should change to a blinking yellow, but the main concern is the 70th avenue light, takes way too long to turn green for those who are heading east or west on 70th. I'm a resident in the townhomes off of 70th and have to use this late daily, a few times a day. So I experience this all the time and is beyond frustrating. Hopefully Pinellas County will listen to all the comments here and get both sides of the light corrected.

Yes- sounds like both directions need an adjustment. Hopefully this thread will warrant a follow-up visit to what has been an ongoing concern for quite a while.

The longest cycle we run at this intersection is 200 seconds (3 minutes 20 seconds). If you are waiting longer than that please give us a time and we can try and narrow down what may be happening. That way we can also check the system for other signal commands that may be happening there, which can also explain a long wait. Thank you for your interest in our transportation system.

The question from us is WHY can't this signal change more frequently? I thought this was part of the new "adaptive" system, if so, why isn't it "adapting"?

I agree, we are asking to have traffic consider reducing the change cycle. 3 minutes and 20 seconds is a long time and as mentioned in previous comments can create quite a traffic back up on 70th. Our request is to please revisit the change cycle and consider 2 min 30 sec interval? thank you.

We understand that there is a longer wait on side street, however this is necessary to progress traffic along Seminole Blvd. We continually monitor this corridor for any changes, so your suggestions are appreciated.
