Description

I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this request. I would like to request the city review the timing of the light at Grove Rd and Plainfield Rd. When turning South on Plainfield Rd from Route 71, there is now a double left turn lane and the cycle is setup for the light at Grove Rd and Plainfield Rd to be red shortly after cars turn from route 71. I believe this should be reversed and the light at Plainfield and Grove should be green to facilitate the flow of traffic. Cars turning from Route 71 will be turning into a red light. As motorists try to make the light, which is now restricted to a left arrow only, they will speed up to catch the yellows, however, they will be speeding up into traffic which is stopped at the light. Furthermore, some motorists will take the inside lane and quickly change lanes to the outside lane to reach Grove Rd, this will further back up traffic in the outside lane and making turning difficult and cause motorists to miss the turn. I hope this city will review this new light cycle and make the determination, I believe changing it will decrease the chance of an accident at this intersection. Thank you for your consideration.
