Maybe it is time to put a weight limit on Hobbs Road? Loaded dump trucks and 18-wheelers use Hobbs regularly. They have torn up both Hobbs and this bridge. It is time to regulate them.

Both issues has Hobbs Road At Aldridge Creek Huntsville, Alabama listed as the address. We apologize for that. We will look into this as a separate issue.

Thank you but I beg to differ. 3073438 is at Hobbs Road. 3338000 does not mention Hobbs Road at all but says "Description Cracks beside most of the beams of the bridge over the greenway at Mt Gap Rd"

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. The City of Huntsville inspects this bridge every other year, according to guidelines set forth by the Federal Highway Administration as well as by the Alabama Department of Transportation, to ensure that the bridge is safe to cross over and under. In a previous inspection we noted this section of the abutment was cracked and showing a small amount of steel. We will continue to monitor this area, and if the cracking begins to affect the rating of the bridge, we will have a contractor make repairs.

We have identified the cracking around the girders in a previous inspection. This cracking is around the area where each bridge girder and the back wall of the bridge abutment meet. This cracking is not something that would cause structural damage to the bridge or any of the components within the bridge, but it is something that we will monitor to make sure that it doesn’t become a problem. If these development into a problem, then we will have these areas repaired.
