Description
A garbage truck knocked over our mailbox today. Interesting coincidence that we have complained that our recycling hadn't been picked up for the last two collections. I expect the City of Raleigh to replace our mailbox.

Snarky retort City of Raleigh. LOL @ limited resources, yet, the City Manager pushed forward w his very own penthouse apartment and office in a bazillion dollar highrise paid for my taxes with gleaming 24k gold faucets.
Sorry to hear and see that the City of Raleigh destroyed your mailbox. Call WRAL's 5 on Your Side, cause the City sure ain't going to do anything about it.

It appears from the photo that the garbage and recycling carts are placed too close to the mailbox. The garbage truck operator needs more space to maneuver. Solid Waste Services advises that the cart must be five feet away from mailboxes and other damageable objects.
