I will find out the address, and the sad part of all this is that the dog does not bark. it lays on a old couch in the backyard and freezes..its sad

What kind of a person watches a dog be neglected for 2 months?? There are many other rescues you could have contacted instead of calling someone that you know is NOT going to answer-shame on you!!

Doglover, Its called tresspassing, someone could come out with a weapon, lots of other reasons, I will call Kevin, I just don't want to send him on a wild goose chase with out the correct info. He could be in danger also, looking into yards etc. This will get solved hopefully soon.

I called Comm. Police and gave the info, it will be given to Kevin, and I am hoping I get a follow up call.

Kevin has checked up on the dog, he states "the dog is in good condition, however the yard is a mess". He told the owner the yard must be cleaned up. Kevin stated that the owner told him that the dog does not stay outside all the time. Kevin will be checking back on this dog and the yard. He will get code involved if owner does not comply. Plus side, the dog owner knows someone is watching. Kevin is very, very dedicated and is on the job 24/7. Calls to the TPD to fix that machine so it will reflect who to call would be helpful. Just one person complaining will not do it. We all have to request a change. Original poster please let us know in more detail what you see from here on in. Dog Lover you have some nerve.. yea i am gonna jump over the fence and pick up a huge dog. Plus you don't know if he bites to protect his territory. Why don't you think before you speak. You go in there rambo and get it and see how the owner treats you. I thank you Kevin i heard you were there. and i thank you nina also. I wasn't trying to question his job or how he does it i just didn't want anything to happen to the dog. Yea the yard is a mess. Its very appreciated that he stopped and maybe that will scare him. and i know he knows people are watching cause the neighbors are always throwing bones and treats for the dog. But thank you once again.

It is good that Nina got involved. It is good that the TPD got involved. It is good that finally Kevin is involved. The shame is, however, that Kevin did not respond to calls for two months. Two months! If he had, Nina would not have had to get involved and neither would the TPD. And the dog would not have been outside in the cold for those two months. My thanks to the original writer who kept going with this until it was resolved. YOU are the real dog lover!

Then there was the puppy who someone dropped off in the Emerald Greens neighborhood yesterday (Ballina St). My daughter found it on our front step (we have dogs) and tried to catch it so she might be able to find its rightful owner. Several neighbors helped her and reported that they had seen this tiny dog running up and down Ballina St; it appeared to be a chihuahua/pekingese pup. The dog escaped to a large fenced in yard (49 Ballina) with a locked gate with no one at home. Calls to animal control were met with that famously full voice mailbox. By the time I got home at 3pm no one seemed to know the fate of the dog. I suspect it died from the cold, unless the home at 49 Ballina had someplace near the backdoor where it could get shelter. If you cannot care for a dog properly you shouldn't have one, but do not drop off animals in residential areas hoping that it will find a home. Maybe Kevin couldn't have helped. Maybe he needs someone to answer and sort calls for him (prioritize).

I am working on fixing this issue. A call to the Mayors office will help me get this issue fixed.

I talked to the Mayor this morning as he was walking his dog. Perhaps a call to Kevin might be in order.

The phone number listed on the troy web site needs to be changed. It has for a long time needed to be changed, Kevin has no control over the number and from my understanding the number linking him to the phone on the web site is hooked into the
City somehow. Not like he has a office, a assistant, he is the only one doing this job. Sometimes 24/7. Now that you have spoken to the Mayor, and he obiviously loves dogs, maybe he can make this change a priority.

@ anonymous...that is why I suggested he have an assistant to screen calls. I know he is a hard worker. the city needs to put a valid phone number on their website.
@Dog lover...I have not seen or heard the dog or anything about it yet. The few other people who were in on the case (my daughter, and a couple of neighbors) I have not seen since that day.

funny he has time to check when u dont get down in time for ur dogs lincese by a month,,,so as u see ive delt with him funny not for my calls over and over but as a dog owner myself,,and i take care of my dog hes my family just like my kids so to say his job he does alone and its 24-7 well so do i and mine is 24-7 as well as other parents do,,,we do it so can he..........this should be fixed asap like i said its been years this way.... i hope and pray the right person fixes this

first i know he can change the number on the website if that to be true,,,,,this has been a huge problem for years i mean years the voicemail has been full,ive has many many issues with this going back over 4 years,i to had to go thru the troy police for them to get in touch with him,,,well they want us as a community to be involved well let me say i did about dog fighting and i dont feel i should have had to go to the police dept to get ahold of him,,,so much for staying annomius and we have to do our jobs ,,so does he,,,,like i said this isnt a new issue at all over 4 yrs his phone has been full....and do we the taxpayers pay for this postion yea then it should b fixed once and for all,,,,,,he could at least earse hes voicemail,,,so when we call even thou he still wont answer he can see a missed call

The Troy Police say the number for Animal Control is their non-emergency number 270-4411, but this website: http://www.troyny.gov/Departments.aspx still needs the number changed.

You have to be politically connected to have Kevin do something. This is an example of gross theft of services. If you are reading this complaint, please print it out and mail it to our Mayor.

I have been using the TPD hot line, the non-emergency number for several years 270-4411. This is the fastest and easiest way to get ahold of the animal control. For crying out loud, stop crying, read the proper procedure for getting ahold of Kevin.

Pretty sad you have to go on here & voice your concerns for Kevin to do his job!

No one is questioning Kevin and the way he does his job. We are looking to get that number changed so he could do his job better.
