I hear this all the way over on Clare Ave. It's very disruptive and only sparklers are legal in NY. These clearly are not sparklers. Illegal fireworks in the second avenue neighborhood are a huge noise problem that needs to be proactively addressed. Haha. Listen to me. Proactive.

Not to mention house fires. One bad firework (rocket) can light a house roof on fire (and has)

The fireworks are so loud I assumed they were nearby in my neighborhood (Kenosha/Mountain Streets).

This is very annoying. Some of us have pets that can't stand the banging.I see that there are many of us that hear this on Sunday so it must be happening. Maybe we can get a foot patrol or maybe a car to drive around this Sunday to hear it. Listen if any one knows what house it's coming from let the Mayor 's office know and send this report with it. I always love the answer" City of Albany Admin 3 assigned this issue to APD-NEU." What ever that means. Iwould like to see what the City has done and how long it took to do something about it. I see a lot of things get reported on this ClickFix thing but it takes a long time to fix or even get a responce on what the City is doing about it. Not the thing from above we passed it on. Maybe we should concider changing the this name to ClickpassITon.

Well, we apparently have yet another engagement officer, so this is likely an issue for him to deal with.

I just called the police about this, again. I also emailed Dorcey Applyrs, our council rep. This is ridiculous.

I could be wrong but I believe tonight's fireworks were from the tree lighting ceremony at the Empire State Plaza. They did not appear to sound as close as they have in the past few weeks. Happy holidays!

Thanks for the clarification. I couldn't believe (after being gone for two weeks) that this was still going on and the city wasn't acting. Now I feel silly.

Happened again last weekend, called the apd and no response from them. Perhaps put a cop in the area on Sunday night to whiteness the issue.

More concerning to me then the illegal fireworks is, Leedale St. is a short cut to avoid 2 (two) stop lights on Second Av.. We've sat on our porch holding our breath as vehicle's race both ways at high speeds day and night. There are people walking dogs, children playing, and cars parked on both sides blocking visibility of these drag racers. I would much rather have my roof catch on fire by a firework then to see a child or anyone hit on this road. Plus the last straw for us is, our neighbors car radio that shakes the windows (at all hours), and leaves it playing as he walks into his house. If fireworks were going off, the radio would drowned them out. Needless to say we will be moving as soon as we find another place, but my thoughts for Leedale is to laydown "Speed Bumps" or make it a one-way street, or Both.

Have you reached out to Dorcey Applyrs, the councilwoman? I know that the Neighborhood Association has been talking about speed bumps for years. Apparently, Albany has only 4 traffic cops and two are dedicated to DWI so there really isn't much traffic enforcement happening. But all of these issues have a negative impact on the quality of life of all of us who reside in the neighborhood.
