That is plain silly. There's an actuator for each fountain (upper and lower). Both used to work. It needs to be repaired or removed (or disabled). In its current state, water is being wasted.

What I didn't say is that it should be running all of the time. The fact that water is being wasted is VERY TRUE! The only way to keep it from making the muddy mess is to keep the drain free of leaves, etc.

The Parks Maintenance Crew will have someone
come out this week and look into repairing this issue.
The fountain will likely be disabled until it is repaired.
I will post the findings & estimated repair time here.

As many people who walk - and jog - with their dogs, hopefully the City will consider this a priority. I think it's a wonderful contribution the Parks Department has made in providing water to the dogs...let's just make sure it isn't considered "something that's not in the budget," and goes into complete disrepair. Per the Parks Maintenance Crew: At Brison Park, the lower fountain is working and upper fountain is not. New parts have been order to fix the fountain. They should be installed within the next week.

This issue has been fixed by the Parks and Recreation Department.
