Description
The alligator in the lake is getting more aggressive and has been hanging out on our lawn recently. It also recently killed one of the enormous Chinese geese that have lived on the lake for years. I have a small child and my neighbors have small dogs and we are getting concerned for our safety.

Neither the City of St. Petersburg nor Pinellas County Animal Control are involved with removing wild animals that cohabitate the area with residents. If you feel the alligator is an immediate threat to the health and safety of its neighbors please call the St. Petersburg Police Department at (727) 893-7780 for non-urgent matters or 911 for emergencies.
Otherwise, persons with concerns about an alligator may call the Florida Fish and Wildlife’s Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286). Generally, an alligator may be deemed a nuisance if it is at least four feet in length and the caller believes it poses a threat to people, pets or property. More information about the State Nuisance Alligator Program (SNAP) can be found below:
