That fence has the proper set back from the corner and does not violate the bylaw in any way. It's also a very nice fence imo.

The set back from intersections are a different set of rules. The city has its own set of Zoning rules for fences. Zoning bylaw no. 1265 section 5.14 Fences seb-section (5) (d) says not-so-clearly that on a corner lot, your side yard has the same fence rules as your neighbour's front yard to the back of you. Explain to me how this fence meets the following. Is the city now choosing to ignore its own zoning bylaws? The city was incredibly strict regarding this a few years ago.

ZONING BYLAW NO. 1264 5.14 (5)
Subject to the vision clearance provisions of Section 5.13, the following height
limitations shall apply to fences, walls or hedges:
(d) In R Districts, where the rear line of a lot abuts the side line of an
adjoining lot, the height of fences, walls or hedges on such rear lot line
shall be not greater than the height permitted on the side line of the
adjoining lot at the point of abutment.

The area of fence that you are referring to with your quoted section of our Zoning Bylaw is not "on such rear lot line". It is set back from the lot line. As stated previously, the fence at this property has been reviewed by City Staff and currently meets all requirements of our zoning bylaw with regard to fences.
