Description

There are 3 lanes exiting the I65 onto Harding Place when you are traveling North on I65. The right lane gets extremely backed up in the rush hour traffic in the afternoon. A suggestion to fix is is to change the direction that the cars can go in the middle lane. Right now the cars in the middle lane can go left or straight. My suggestion is to make the center lane also turn right. This will help more people turn right and reduce the amount of traffic that backs up. An additional pay off may be a reduction in wrecks. It is common for people to rear end each other when they turn right on to Harding Pl. because they are in such a hurry and not paying attention. A second area that may avoid wrecks is where the exit first exits the interstate. Traffic will back up so much that cars will sit on the actual interstate and can cause accidents there too. I don't know how to get the data to prove the amount of accidents in these locations but I know it is common from my personal experience. And lastly, I think if you can reduce the accidents at this location it will give police officers a chance to be at other more serious incidents.
