Description
Hello, this is a VERY dark intersection (NW 159th st and 1st Ave NW) and many people walk this area at night because of all Highland Terrace school evening activities. Many folks park in the neighborhood and/or live near by so they walk to the school all the time for school activities, sports etc... Most of 1st AVE NW and 2nd AVE NW are SO dark. Please, please, please add street lights all along BOTH 1st and 2nd AVE NW between NW 159th St and NW 156th St. It's such a safety concern. It seems like a quiet neighborhood but, there really is so much traffic due to the school. There are so many children that live in this neighborhood and there have been break-ins. We would really appreciate our neighborhood to become a well lit, safer place to be when the sun goes down. Thank you!!!

The City is starting work on a Street Light Master Plan which will identify street light needs throughout the City. This effort is slated to be completed by the end of next year. Although there is currently no additional funding to install street lights following this planning effort, the document will help to guide limited existing funding for additional street lights as well as any new funding. In the meantime, you can contact our Traffic Services department with any specific requests; it helps if you can provide the 7 digit utility pole number where you’d like lights to be mounted.
