Porta Potties should be moved over in front of the hotel parking lot. Keep them inside the park as they are now.
This would help deter people from using the hotel bathrooms as well.
I can't imagine standing in line for food & being right next to a porta potty- this is just gross.

Porta poties in Salem during Halloween are a complete failure. They are disgusting and with the homeless issue even worse. I see so many visitors looking for bathrooms it's unreal. One public restroom on artist row (disgusting) if even open. The only other I know of is the visitor center. All restaurant's and bars have restrooms for customers only. Build and maintain public restrooms for Halloween.

Thank you for your feedback about the port-a-john locations. This is the same location where these have been set up for several years now and they have approved by the Salem Police Department. The traffic division of the Department has not indicated that the location presents a hazard to drivers. The City will consider other locations on the Common for next October; however, the location will not move them closer to residences under any circumstances. The sawhorses where set out by the Police Department when the Museum Place Mall garage was at capacity and unable to accept more vehicles.

this is very disappointing. What about the pedestrians safety? you mentioned the drivers safety only.
Moving the Port-a-Johns across from the Hawthorne Hotel parking lot is not any closer to residents then the current position they are currently at on the corner of Washington Sq. N. & W.
