Description
Not only is this traffic warning sign about "bike safety" a victim-blaming response that disrespects the death of a cyclist in a dangerous intersection under the wheels of an unlicensed 18 wheeler (dangerous, huge, and unlicensed in an urban, residential area) -- it is also IN the bike lane. This is unacceptable. A sign, moved out of the space for bicycles to safely travel, could read "TRUCKS BE SAFE: LOOK FOR BIKES" or simply "LOOK FOR BIKES AND PEDESTRIANS." This is right in front of a school where many of the children bike with their parents every morning. It also is causing bikes to come up onto the sidewalk to avoid this very sign, and poses a threat to the children coming and going to take care of the plants in front of the school. Please remove this, and consider something that pays some respect to the life lost for no good reason.
