There has been no action on this issue since reported a couple weeks ago. Now the light is mostly off all night, leaving the stairs in the dark. This is a dangerous situation.

Good to know this street light is out, I was going to walk this the other night. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I called the City of Oakland Public Works Agency today, and they were surprised that this problem hadn't been taken care of yet. A message is going out to the supervisor, and I'm supposed to be contacted with and update. I'll post that information here if/when I get it.

Hello City of Oakland, please fix this light as the steps are dangerous without it. We use the steps almost every night and early morning. Thank you.

Still no action on this, so I called Oakland Public Works again, and got the same response as in May--they'd contact the supervisor and get back to me. I pointed out that that was what I was told over two months ago, with no follow-up. So I was encouraged to contact the supervisor directly. The contact info is:

I haven't received a return call from Stephanie Wilson or anyone at Oakland Public Works. The light is still a problem, the days are getting shorter, and the unlighted steps are as dangerous as always. I especially worry about the parents who carry their infants down the steps from the daycare center that is at 36 Eucalyptus Path.

We are coming up on the second anniversary of the report of this problem. It's sad that Oakland Public Works hasn't done more than acknowledge this report and give me the phone run-around. Now the light at the top of the path is completely out (http://seeclickfix.com/issues/805041-street-light), so we are without 2 of the 4 lights on this long stretch of path with staircases.
