Description

Drivers routinely enter the intersection from Western Avenue when there is no room for them to exit the intersection before the light changes. As a result, drivers are trapped with oncoming traffic and no choice but to illegally block the bike/pedestrian lane when pedestrians have the green light. A pedestrian or biker will die here unless the city establishes a police presence to continually issue tickets to drivers that enter the intersection illegally. This is not an issue of scarce city resources because an officer would net thousands of dollars for the city each hour they are posted here during rush hour. This is purely a case of the city not prioritizing pedestrian and biker safety.
