Description

The 1st Ave/Blaisdell bike lanes are great, but to use them I must pass through this intersection on my morning commute. Morning traffic volumes on 15th St appear to be extremely low, yet this signal prioritizes that movement by providing it with an unreasonably long phase. Bicycle and car traffic on 1st Ave is expected to wait for over a minute while the intersection sits empty. The result is a very low rate of compliance among people waiting to cross 15th St. This is dangerous because there are poor sight lines for traffic on eastbound 15th St. This situation is not fair to anybody.
