hi Same here At Jolly and pleasant Grove woodchucks, raccoons, skunks, and possums it is nearly impossible to have a garden

This is a very common issue that the city should address for health reasons and damages that can be caused by these critters. Potter Walsh area is over populated with Skunks this year we have at least 10 in a 1 block radius. Possums are really bad we have at least 20of them counting all the babies. Woodchucks are also really bad. The damages are unreal. These critters carry a disease called Leptospirosis which is very dangerous for fur children and humans. I have lived in the country many times in my life and have never experienced this kind of over population as I do here in the city. Trash and Garbage is a big reason but till the city takes things seriously and keep up on violations on a regular basis nothing will stop them from coming in our areas. These homes that are empty is a big reason. And repeated trash/garbage violators , instead of giving people citations over and over again they need to rewrite how they can handle these issues and stop giving people extensions to clean up trash and garbage.

They say this post has been up for 481 days. Without a response or action from the city. The problem is still here and even worse. My dogs have been sprayed twice in 2017.

Same with the Cedar and Cavanaugh area. For 9 years I have been putting out fox urine crystals and filling all holes and burrows I can find. It is getting expensive. We have woodchucks, raccoons, skunks, and possums. Live traps won't works for skunks, because 1.) they spray you; and 2.) they have a territory that covers a 5-mile radius, so they will manage to find their way back.

if you approach the trap from the blind side and cover with a blanket the trap can be transported but then then question is where you take and if you can get the trap open and not get sprayed

I found Animal B Gon at Tractor Supply and it works. I has some common strong scents that are not so bad to us, but the animals hate them. I put some down the burrows and in the areas I saw woodchucks and skunks. That this point there are none in my yard. However, woodchucks hibernate so putting some down their burrows now might be a good idea.
