We also heard from the responding officer this morning that there was a successful break-in through the window last night somewhere on Willow St.

We had the same thing about two weeks ago. Side windows (by driveway) had been tried, but latches worked. Should have reported it, but since there was nothing the police could do, we did not. Guess we should get down to the station.

Should have added: We are on Linden near Foster. There also have been two cars broken into (one on Linden, one on Foster just around the corner) within the last few weeks. Sounds like we have a very active individual (or team) working this part of the neighborhood.
