Traffic backs up everyday now at 5 points Glenwood north since new light poles.

It may be helpful to include more information to help the City out. I'm assuming you're talking about Glenwood Ave at the Five Points intersection?

The Five Points intersection is tricky - there's so many signal phases and so much traffic on each approach that you can't really prioritize one or else you'll screw something up (if you give the southbound Glenwood Ave lefts more time or more time to the Whitaker Mill/Fairview phase - and they sure need it, then you back up traffic on Glenwood Ave). The Glenwood Ave northbound approach has gotten worse (I drive through there on my way home daily) but it is nothing that is really anything crazy for Raleigh (see Wade Avenue & St. Mary's St intersection during rush hour). You'll still get through the light within 1 or 2 green light cycles.
