I have been writing about the same issue for many years and I picked the litter my self in the past. There was a litter basket on the sidewalk few years back, the city of Raleigh never gave the deserved attention to this street, it belongs to the disadvantaged lower income people, the case ould be different if this was in the five point area. I suggest us residents to get our brooms out and do the job and forget about the busy city crew.

Kudos for the effort to pick up the litter. I've picked up all the litter on my street for years. My opinion is that if everyone does their part we wouldn't have problems like this. And it's not the city workers that need to get busy, it's the CoR admin staff that issues a "public nuisance notice of violation" and then don't follow up. The part that bothers me the most is that they close and archive my SCF post and they know the street is still strewn with litter. The fact is that it's the property owners that need to be held accountable to the rest of the city's stakeholders.The city needs to do that on our behalf.

All, thanks for your concerns about litter. City crews sweep city maintained streets as often as resources allow. Property owners are responsible for cleaning litter from their property. An accumulation of litter is against the City Code and a housing inspector will check reported problem locations to determine if a violation exists and then will take action as allowed by City Code. So this was first reported over 45 days ago. How long should we expect it to take?

These two blocks are still strewn with litter. It's gone over 60 days. Can no one get the property owners to tend to this mess?
