Description
The storm water pond has not been maintained ,due to the dissolving of the hoa 10-15 years ago, as required by code and then water district. There is a patch of weeds and trees, not alive and dead, that stand in front of the drainage pipe. These trees as per design shouldn't be there at all. They would have gotten the hoa fines. But at this point it is causing stagnation in the outflow of water .there is a constant layer of water in and around there's trees,as well as a constant layer of mud and muck causing a large mosquito and rodent issue. The pond itself, due to lack of maintance, also does not drain in the max required time of 72 hours. I believe it is because of the lack of maintance on the pond to aid in absorption and drainage through the pipe.

As stated in work request (see attachment). The County is responsible for the outfall structure in the pond and the infall pipes. Sediment was removed from the infall at 3 locations. The pond if not covered by an HOA would be referred to SWFWMD in Tampa. Probable contact would be Russ Martin. There also may be help with the County’s Adopt-a-pond.

We saw the men here. They crushed the weeds in one spot and cut a channel through the silt .taking about one truck away and leaving the weeds! This only shows how much silt was left behind . The weeds and trees that are causing the problem were not even removed!
As of today the water is still there. According to the rules in the site unwanted and non native vegetation and silt must be removed to facilitate. Absorption within the 72 hr period.
