Community Development will assign an inspector to check the property for violations of the grass and weed ordinance. This ordinance only requires the cutting of grass or weeds over 8 inches in height and CONSUME AN ABUNDANCE of the yard. We cannot require the trimming of bushes, shrubs, bamboo, ornamentals, ivy or trees. Thank you for contacting us.

We have a current notice issued for grass cutting. A re-inspection will be done upon the final date to insure compliance with this ordinance. If not cut, we'll issue a work order for our crew to cut the area.

Reference Issues #1902637 (23 Sep 2015) and #1868536 (26 Aug 2015). From #1902637 the message was "Community Development has determined there is no owner for this property. A work order has been issued for our crew to trim the area as much as can be trimmed, to keep the weeds away from the turn around." The area in question in the big truck turn-around at the north end of Foxfire Drive. It is not an individual's yard. Not certain why a notice is being issued and waiting for a re-inspection when it was determined last year it was the responsibility of the City to trim the area.

This issue will be resolved by our crew when the notice has been updated for a work order.
