Due to the nature of these investigations, the assigned officer neglected or forgot to clear this issue. I am closing it now, if the original complainant feels that this issue has not been resolved, feel free to reopen the issue. this will notify the assigned officer so they can follow up. thank you for your patience.
A reciprocity investigation, once initiated, can take up to 4 months to complete when you include the 60 day warning citation and once an actual court summons is written, a court date will be set at least 30 days from the time the court summons is issued. If the offender pleads "not guilty", a trial date will be set at least 30 days from the initial hearing date. Circumstance can cause this process to take even longer in some cases, especially if the offender requests an extension for some reason. Please be patient as we try to resolve these cases. We will generally mark the issue closed once the warning citation is issued but the investigation will continue. Over this 4 month period officers tend to forget to go back and close the issue and the person submitting the complaint generally feels like nothing has been done because the complaint is still open.
