I would love to understand what the City's plans are for the "Improvements" to this so-called "Food Truck Paradise" area. Looks like they have shrunken the on-street parking areas and taken away the angled parking spots that used to happen on Long Wharf Drive and now installed high curbs, so now people are parrallel parking next to the food trucks. It is so narrow through here, that a driver has to drive across the yellow lines into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting the parked cars. I would love for a CIty official to drive on Long Wharf Drive between the hours of 4:30 and 5:30 PM East to West to see how incredibly dangerous this area is. While I think the goal is to make this "Paradise" better, is making it more dangerous. Where can citizens find information on what the long-term plan is for redeveloping this area. I realize it is a work in progress, but what is the project supposed to look like once done? I see the Large sign posted with Governor Malloy's name on it, but where can we find the information ourselves?
Thing is going to be done about this or no plans are going to be discussed until somebody is physically damaged or property is damaged or somebody's killed to that extent because you could still drive by there any time and see cars parked on angles were it's a truly hazardous situation and it doesn't matter what time you go and nobody seems to understand that somebody's going to get hurt nobody wants to drive by and see the problem it's a wait-and-see situation
I DON'T drive in this area due to my SAFETY its definitely a Hazzard. I drive on 95 and look at the disaster and just say to my self waite until it gets warmer. I pray for everyone safety .
