We will revisit, we may have to ask Code Compliance to start a case on the homeowners and get a judgement to have them prune roots or remove tree , whatever their arborist recommends
Hello Shawn Denton, I am the home owner of said property, how can you guys start a case against me when the city came by 3 times and all that was done was to shave the sidewalk. I can't even pull my cars into the drive way because the root lifted the sidewalk 8 inches ,nothing was done to curb that tree roots but shaved the uneven cracks. That tree is preventing me from driving my vehicles into my drive way and the side walks are cracked. nothing was done during the times they came to shave the sidewalk. and now I am getting blamed. we have pruned and rotted as much as we could but we can not go under the sidewalk concrete with out destroying the sidewalk, something the city should take into account. I would like get rid of the tree and fix the sidewalk as well. It doesn't make any sense for you guys to come back here 3 or 4 times a year. please inform me of what logical steps to take if any, and what steps the city is going to take besides starting a case against me for no apparent reason. Thank you
will have DBI revisit the address , there have been several homeowners that requested sidewalk repairs and have not done the remedial work so the sidewalk can be replaced.
we will have them schedule with you, the removal ( in lieu of temporary grinding) so you may have your arborist mitigate the tree or roots. If they recommend removal a removal permit will need to be obtained from the Economic Developement/Planning Department. Once mitigated the sidewalk can be scheduled for the next complete truck of concrete ordered
Mr. Denton, I really appreciate your response to my concern, believe me , once the concrete on the side walk is removed the roots /tree will be mitigate and I will be applying for a tree removal permit if need be. I can not speak for the other homeowners who have not done their remedial work ,but any remedial work on my premises will be done immediately following removal. I'm hoping that this can be accomplished rather quickly so that I can start working on parking my vehicles in the drive way without worrying about damaging them. Is it possible to let me know the contact information /or a time of when they should contact me or schedule an inspection. If you need my phone # please give me your info so i can text it to you. Thanking you in advance. Jose L.
