Carol, I talked to the ped coordinator at DDOT and he told me the signal here is pre-timed (meaning that a "walk" signal will appear regardless of whether the button is pressed. Has your experience there been different? (They really should remove the signs telling people they have to push the button, of course.)

Nevermind. The oed coordinator just wrote me again and said he was wrong -- this signal is actuated. He's going to follow up.

Still no sign of any action on this, and it's been over a month (and this is the second time I've reported it, so it's actually been longer than that). The service request with DC 311 just shows "In progress." Is there any way to move this along?

The 311 report on this STILL just says "Open," five months later. Is there any way to figure out what is going on?

I live around the corner and help an elderly lady last week when she wanted to cross. She just had to stand there waiting for someone else to come and push the button for her. This is not safe at all.

The service request still shows on DC 311 as "open." And there is no way to figure out what is going on with it.
