Description
Spraying for Noxious Weeds (Tansy) Signs - Per COBI Municipal Code 16.30.060, the public is being improperly notified by the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Program. 16.30.060 "“WARNING: PESTICIDE APPLICATION.” Notices shall be at least eight and one-half inches by 11 inches, and shall include the following information: the pesticide’s active ingredient; the date and time of pesticide application; the area treated; the rate of application; the name and phone number of the contact person for the application; the name and phone number of the responsible party where the pesticide label and material safety data sheets may be obtained;"
MISSING is the 1) Active Ingredient 2) date and time of application and 3) the Rate of Application.
The spraying cannot occur until Code compliance is met. Given that COBI has designated "Make 2016:Year of the Bee" and we have bee hives (as do others) please stop the spraying so that the Tansy can be pulled and eradicated without herbicides and that property owners can erect NO SPRAYING signs within the COBI 48 hour notification period. As Posted - the signs are insufficient and do not meet Code 16.30.060.

Yes, there does seem to be a dissonance between spraying and "Year of the Bee." Are different governmental departments communicating with each other?
