Description
During the recent flood on July 30th, the small stream that normally holds one foot of water swelled to well over 6 feet high and about 1/2 acre wide. The stream overwhelmed the culvert and went up and over Burnside Drive. The community of Chateau Ridgelake is fearful that the planned development on the Carroll property will cause more extreme flooding and damage to the existing neighborhood. At least 4 houses that I know of in the neighborhood were flooded with about 5 feet of water.

I don't think that the stream overflowed the road. I think water from the street, unable to drain through the new grate on the north side of Burnside Drive, overflowed the road and joined the stream. This is not the first overflow since the new grate was installed. Left alone, the road bed may eventually erode. I have called the Department of Public Works and no one returned my call.
