Actually there are numerous smaller potholes along that stretch of road. Road crews have been there twice this year making limited repairs both times (less than a dozen holes each time) and the work was only performed within 200 feet of the intersection with Rte 155. Besides these, as a cyclist, I'm particularly concerned about the deep long ruts adjacent to the white line with no shoulder whatsoever which forces me well into the traffic lane. There are three on the south side of the road. I've added another photo because the one I posted didn't do it justice. It would also help to have a yellow SHARED ROADWAY sign posted in that area. Not sure if that's your department or not. Thank you for your consideration

I took a ride past there yesterday on my bicycle and found that TWO of the three deep shoulder ruts are still there. It appears that ONE was filled in BUT there are stil two remaining in that area. It's the south side of Old State. One is about 500' west of the Rte 155 intersection and the other is less than a 1/4 mile in, about half way to the Guilderland town line. These ruts are about 20 or so feet long and 6 to 8 inches deep. There is abolutely no should which forces me to ride well into the traffic lane and without a should, riding into one of these deep ruts whould not be pretty.

Just a few comments. First, it took FIVE MONTHS to address this situation? I have to wonder how many cars destroyed tires/front ends but running into these ruts as shown by the scrapes in the road. Second, the so called repair was the same as done several times in the past. Dumping loose stone is a bandaid and will only last a few months before cars and rain erode the stones away to reveal the deep ruts again. This section of road is severely neglected by the City of Albany and need a permanent fix to address the ruts and potholes which are already forming and it's only January!
