I live on Tilden next door and the same thing is happening all the way up the railroad property outside our fence. Growing into trees and has consumed our across the street neighbors side yard.

City code enforcement will review for any code violations here, but the larger issue is one neighbor not maintaining their property and impacting the adjoining neighbors along Cleveland Street. If is difficult for the City to mediate issues between neighbors. You may find the owners contact information of value while we continue to investigate any code violations.

With regard to the comment regarding Tilden Street and the adjoining railroad property, the same applies but with even more difficulty since the City has limited ability to affect railroad companies, and the presence of kudzu is a problem across the Southeast US and elsewhere. And has been a growing problem for many decades.

We will update with the status of possible code violations as soon as that is available.

I did have a conversation with Ms. Godwin and at this point she is unwilling to do anything about the kudzu. I think she feels that since the kudzu is a larger problem in the city it is not her responsibility to maintain. I did not press her on the issue and tried to remain neutral. Any suggestions you can provide are helpful at this point. Thank you for continuing to pursue a thoughtful resolution to this problem since it seems to be a big issue for those of us on Cleveland Street.

Hi City of Raleigh 6-

This is still an ongoing issue for all of the residents of the north side of Cleveland St and south side of Washington St. The kudzu is bushes and killing old trees that have been here for decades. It’s quite the burden to keep up on a lot of people. How can we work together to rectify this?
