Description

There used to be no fishing signs on the seawall. Now they are gone and the fishing has had a negative impact on the park. Sidewalks are being blocked and fish guts are thrown around The hooks are dangerous also.

Yes, I would like to see the" no fishing" signs back up. Old smelly bait has been left on the sidewalk to be walk on and to lure pesty insects. Dogs are also attracted to the strong smells of the bait and attempt to eat it, which may also contain hooks that can be very dangerous. So yes, "No Fishing " signs are needed.

They also use the park benches as cutting boards.

The BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL BENCHES?!?!?! This is vandalism and the police should enforce. Our issues in the Cove may not be as glamorous as other areas but still deserve the attention of authorities. Put the signs back up and start issuing summons/fines/tickets

It is a public park. Made for recreational activities that also includes fishing. Unfortunately there are some individuals that leave a mess but dont try to ban an activity that many enjoy and do the right thing. While out on your walks stop and educate let them know your concerns. I guarantee you the majority will try to help you.

The no-fishing signs/regulation was reintroduced at the Pardee Sea Wall upon the completion of Ft. Hale Pier last year. We encourage all fishers to take advantage of the beautiful new facility.
