Two Stop Signs are required on the junction where Sanford Place meets Hutton ST. Please see the pic for reference. Hope the illustration clarifies. Please confirm.

Just noticed the map you posted. The request for stop signs is on the intersection where Sanford Place meets Hutton ST which is perpendicular to JFK BLVD. The aim is to regulate traffic turning from JFK Blvd into Zabrieski ST but have to invariably get into Sanford PL due yo Zabrieski ST being DO NOT ENTER from JFK BLVD.

Please be advised of the following, the Division of Engineering, Traffic and Transportation will initiate a traffic engineering survey for this intersection. This survey consists of a crash analysis, collision diagram, condition diagram and a 25 hour motor vehicle count and when warranted a “speed” or “classification” count. We also take into consideration other factors at the intersection, such as, any sight distance problems for vehicles entering the intersection. Once all the traffic engineering data is collected it is analyzed. If the data collected falls within the parameters mandated by the federal guidelines of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for the installation of an additional traffic control device, a “stop sign” or “traffic signal”, we then proceed with the necessary steps. To designate an intersection as a “multi-way stop” an Ordinance is proposed for Municipal Council approval.
Whether the traffic data collected does or does not indicate that an additional traffic control device is warranted, we will still make improvements at the intersection and at the approaches to the intersection. We make sure all the signs are clear and visible and clear the corners with “no parking any time” signs for better visibility. We will issue work orders to install if necessary, speed limit signs at the approaches to the intersection. If there are designated crosswalks, if needed, we will also install “pedestrian approach” and “pedestrian crossing" with diagonal arrow signs.
I will advise you of the outcome of your request once all the traffic engineering data is collected and analyzed.

Hi Patricia, Do you have any feedback on this issue yet? I had also send in a petition with 32 signatures requesting installation of speed humps on Hutton ST between Summit Ave & Sanford Place. The residents are experiencing extreme honkings due to speeding traffic and cars backing up from respective garages. There is also a daycare on the block. The it's an accident prone situation.

Based on a review of police crash records for the intersection of Sanford Place and Hutton Street, only one major crash has occurred at the intersection in the past 5 years. Based on this assessment and a review of stop-control guidelines established by the Federal Highway Administration, our office does not recommend all-way stop control for this intersection at this time. However, we will assess existing intersection signage and make any improvements needed to improve intersection sight distance.
